In 1971 Giovanni Bittante founded a company specialised in the production of technical footwear and boots for high-altitude mountaineering and the outdoors: Kayland®. His technical skills immediately enabled him to create high quality products and, together with his far-sighted vision and ability to anticipate market trends, led him to found the Kayland® Professional Team, a group of technical experts in the mountains. Thanks to their experience and know-how, it was possible to bring a new avant-garde approach to the way footwear is designed and produced, which still characterises the brand's products today.

Vibram® tread

Offering excellent grip on the way up and down.

Vibram® MULAZ EVO is the recommended sole for safe walking on all terrains. Its 360° helical tread is especially effective when ascending and descending.
The broad support surfaces at the tip (“climb zone”) are particularly useful in rocky passages where grip is essential. Correct walking and lateral stability ensured.

Vibram® FOURÀ EVO is the ideal sole for backpacking and trekking. It features wide self-cleaning grooves and a flexion line in the forefoot for
comfortable rolling. Under-cut marked heel for safe braking and reinforced toe-bumper for high protection and resistance to wear and tear.

TETON is one of the newest Vibram mountaneering soles. The rubber cleats, inspired by the legendary Vibram® Carrarmato, guarantee traction
on particularly uneven terrain while the delineated heel offers braking on steep slopes and moving surfaces. Teton is perfect for demanding trekking,
especially at high altitudes.

Vibram® Multiverse Hike sole block is designed to guarantee excellent performance on rough and uneven terrain, thanks to the features developed
by the collaboration between Kayland and Vibram®. Large areas with correct tessellation at the tip and heel for greater grip on dirt and descent, while
the central part is sculpted for better control over smooth surfaces or ladders; finally, the positioning of the lugs allows perfect traction and stability in

Vibram® CURCUMA. Sturdy polyurethane sole unit: your guarantee of excellent durability over time and perfect cushioning. The Vibram® CURCUMA outsole delivers perfect grip underfoot whilst keeping weight down. The result is one of the lightest soles in its category. The TPU insert on the heel means crampons can be used for winter walks in icy, snowy conditions.

The innovative Vibram® Stellar sole unit has been designed exclusively for Kayland. The internal construction features a honeycomb design that
lightens the structure, facilitates thermal insulation and delivers excellent shock absorption.

Vibram XS TREK is a technical compound that allows great overall performance
for multisport, outdoor, mountain bike, snow sports, and water sports. Its
principal characteristics are flexibility and wet traction.

Extended lacing system

A combination of asymmetrical closure of the laces and their position as far as possible in the toe area of the foot. Such technology grants a very precise feeling, as the shoes can be closed tightly also in the toe part. The asymmetrical positioning allows the foot to flex in its natural position.

Ankle Lock Technology
